Australian WIM users forum held in Hobart on March 4 and 5.

An Australian Weigh In Motion users forum was held in Hobart at the Tasmanian Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources. Speakers from the Australian states and New Zealand presented their experiences collecting, managing and applying WIM data.

Bob Peters from MRWA presented the latest research into the measurement of dynamic wheel loads using on-vehicle instrumentation developed at ARRB Transport Research.

During vendor's presentations Transmetric presented WIMShot, the new real time system for enforcement screening.

On the second day the group inspected a recently refurbished WIM station and had lunch on the summit of Mount Wellington, overlooking Hobart.

The event was organised by Flori Mihai of MRWA and Jan Lang of DIER and was roundly appreciated by the attendees.
